The annual spring Fairhope Arts & Crafts

Festival is in its 60th year and counting. Begun as artists’ simple displays in
store windows, the festival has grown into an event that draws more than 230
exhibitors from throughout the nation. The festival’s prestigious juried shows
take place right on the streets of downtown Fairhope. In 2011, the number of
visitors to the 40th annual Outdoor Art Show, hosted by the Eastern Shore Art
Association, combined with the Arts & Crafts Festival visitors to total
more than 250,000 visitors to the area. With these and so many other cultural
events and other attractions in the lush tropical setting, it’s no wonder
locals cherish the life and good times they have in their beautiful “Sweet Home
